Ice fishing is very popular among the native population of Lapland. There are many frozen lakes and rivers in Rovaniemi where you can test your luck and catch some fish. Our fishing guide will pick you up from the hotel and take to the fishing location. He will coach you on the fishing techniques and show the main tricks. During fishing, you will have a small picnic in the wild nature: warm up by the fire, grill sausages and enjoy a warm drink.

Such a great experience. Went on the trip as an experience I thought my husband would enjoy as a keen river and sea fisherman. Didn’t realise I would enjoy it so much. Picked us up in a minibus and took us to the experience centre All warm clothing provided. Went out on a snowmobile to get to the lake and our guide took us up into the hills to show us the vast lake we were going to fish. Showed us how to drill holes and fish in the holes and then let us drill our own holes and load up our rods. Great excitement when my husband caught a fish. Then we went to the shore and our guide built us a fire and we cooked sausages and drink hot drinks. Guide was great chatty and knowledgeable. My husband and him showed each other photos of the fish they have caught in the past.
