The Do Eat Better Experience food tour is a walking tour around the historical center of Florence. The tourist is guided by a "Foodie", a local "buddy" able to explain every detail of the selected restaurants, their preparations, and the relevant history/curiosities. Do Eat Better Experience tours are a mix of high-quality gastronomy as a way of showing Italian culture and lifestyle and a walking experience together with a local friend. This is the reason why we accept small groups only: we want to focus on a genuine exchange and give to each tourist the highest attention possible. Please, note that the tour is always run in English and Italian; other languages upon request.

    Our food tour offers an overview of the many tasty specialities of the city, moving from selected cured meats and cheeses to different types of pasta, strictly kneaded by hand.

    We start with the typical Florencian aperitivo tasting cured meats and local cheeses from Tuscany.
  • Palazzo Medici Riccardi, Florence, Italy
    After that, the first dish will be the traditional Potatoes tortelli or the tasty pici. Strictly kneaded by hand in a top-ranking trattoria of Firenze. A must-try!
  • Piazza Santa Trinita, Florence, Italy
    You cannot leave Florence without having tried the traditional "Pappa al pomodoro" and the "Ribollita". Both dishes from the farmers’ tradition, wisely prepared in the same way for generations, in one of the most typical and lively trattorias of Florence.

    And if you weren't full enough, there's also a Florentine street food stop. The delicious schiacciata, a "focaccia" stuffed with local products of the highest quality, or the delicious coccoli fried and also accompanied by local salami and delicacies.

    Finally, a dessert to end our tour. Depending on availability and season, we will taste the best gelato in Florence or a typical sweet in a historic pastry shop.

You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Our guide Niccolo was fabulous, and he showed us a wonderful time exploring the food scene in Florence. We enjoyed plenty of local dishes, wine and gelato. In addition, we really appreciated Nic’s stories and insights. This tour was a great way to kick off our vacation!

Our guide Niccolo was truly fabulous, and we had a wonderful time full of food, wine and gelato. Nic’s insights, stories and background information were a lot of fun to hear. Though this was our first organized tour during this vacation, we will definitely not forget how much we enjoyed it!

My family and I had a great time on this tour. Our tour guide Rafael has been a local in Florence for many years. He took us on fantastic walk through the city, answering all our questions, and overall being a great host. He was friendly and approachable, and I enjoyed conversing with home for the entirety of the tour. The locations he took us too all had a warm and inviting atmosphere, and delicious food to go with it. I felt like a saw a small slice of authentic Florentine culture. Part of our tour group was a recently engaged couple, who were traveling around the country and were very excited to be joining us on this tour. Sharing a meal with this group felt more like a dinner with close friends than one with strangers. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Florence.
