Although the guide was extremely nice and friendly, the experience of not really being attended to was not safe. I understand in Europe you do not have to wear a helmet but it was fairly dangerous. I had been on an electric bike before but my boyfriend had not. They were not going to have him practice until I asked. Originally, I am from Europe so I understand European traffic but I will be honest, it was a bit scary. A few times the buses in Florence got really close to the bikes and I told my 18 y old son not to go next to them since they cannot see you. The tour guide would take off without checking if we were all there so a few times we were far behind and also one time he had to come back to get us. I was not going to put our lives in danger to keep up with the group. My son's bike also made a loud clicking noise and his bike did not peddle well. seemed like the electric part of if was not working well. We told the tour guide halfway in, when we made a stop, and he switched bikes with my son, so that was nice of him. The views, once outside the city, were amazing and worth the ride but I would not do it again.

There were too many riders placed in one group. People kept getting stopped at lights and it was difficult to keep everyone together. Also the tour is through very busy areas with people walking everywhere so you have to pay attention to where your riding constantly. The paying attention constantly made it hard to enjoy the ride. I am an experienced cyclist and I would not do this again.

This tour was dangerous. Many of the areas we rode through were overwhelmed with people and vehicular traffic. The group was too large and the guide got so far ahead that members of the group ended up separated and lost at least 3 times. At one point, person stepped in front of a member of the group causing them to crash, and the guide was nowhere to be found. We have been on several tours like this in other large cities and this was the only bad experience we have had. Typically, the guide stays close and makes sure everyone is together, stops at intersections and checks in with everyone, and provides information and facts about the city during the course of the tour. None of those happened more than a few times over the course of over 2 hours. Most of the time the guide was so far ahead of us that we couldn’t hear what little he was saying on the headsets provided. On the positive side, we did get to a couple areas with beautiful views and some great pictures, but beyond that, this was not an enjoyable experience. I would not recommend this tour.
