We got the time mixed up and missed the tour start. Despite not being their "policy" the tour operator and guide allowed us to join late, which was super nice! Once we got with the group it was a fun time trying some samples inside the Mercato Centrale, then moving on to sit-down pasta, schiacceria (sandwiches) and excellent gelato. Our guide (Marianna?) was enthusiastic and informative, clearly someone who loves Florence and its food!

We had a very informative walk through the neighborhood orhood and sampled Cantucci (delicious), learned the proper ways to use olive oil and balsamic vinegar at the Central Market, then sat down for pasta alla bolognese. The tour ended with fresh gelato in a cozy shop. We also learned a bit of local history.. our group had about 17 people so the only suggestion would be to use a headset to provide better audio.

Our guide was Valentina, and she did an amazing job. We got to eat delicious traditional food and see the quieter side of Florence. Definitely recommend!
