My wife and I have been to Florence from La Spezia on our own via the train. While this wasn’t exactly a ‘bad’ way to go, it was a bit warm and took quite a while. This trip we decided to splurge and hire a driver. Wow, are we ever glad we did! Gianni treated us like family and was very attentive. He made sure we had plenty of time to see the sights and kept us on track to get back to the ship on time. Not to mention the luxury of getting back into a nice air conditioned Mercedes after every stop! It was 100F outside and having the A/C was worth the price of admission! Seriously though, if you’re even considering hiring a driver for the day, Italy Privat Tours will take great care of you.
