Italian fashion originates in Florence since Roman times and continues being famous by fabric merchants of the Middle Ages. The first fashion show in Italy took place in Florence in February 1951. Guccio Gucci was a real Florentine self made man and Salvatore Ferragamo chose Florence and Palazzo Feroni to set up his shoe factory in 1938, after coming back from Hollywood. His clients were Marilyn Monroe, Greta Garbo, Audrey Hepburn and Sofia Loren. Gucci Garden in the building of the Tribunal of the Florentine Merchants (14th century) and Palazzo Spini Feroni (13th century), the headquater of the Ferragamo Company are a must not to be missed! The Gucci Gallery and Ferragamo museum where nice! Sad to find out it was only 8 Euros per person each place ! We paid $455 Cad still waited inline to get in! ? I would recommend not using a guide!

Having a guide really brought the experience to life. And added the history of the 2 fashion houses which gave meaning and understanding as to what we were experiencing. Suzanna was very knowledgeable and informative and really passionate about these Ferragamo, and Gucci , and really connected with us. Definitely worth it if you want to visit these 2 places.

They called to cancel our tour last minute. The night before we were supposed to do the tour. They said there was a private event at the Gucci Garden. We were all very disappointed.
