See the amazing treasure in the Spanish Treasure Galleons galleries discovered by Mel Fisher and his crew, plus so much more! The thought provoking Slave Ship and Key West African Cemetery exhibits provide a stark look into the Transatlantic Slave Trade and Key West’s unique role in it. Discover the relics found aboard the Henrietta Marie, an English merchant slave ship dating back to 1699. The wreck as discovered in 1972, but was only partially excavated until years later. Hear about the story behind this important piece of history. Learn about Spanish Coins in the New World, the Real Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Science of Shipwrecks. You can even take a lab tour and see how history is revealed through conservation every day! Come celebrate 30 years of treasure with the Mel Fisher Maritime Museum!

What a disappointment! Gone is the treasure! What should be about a treasure hunter's pay day has now been replaced with the a history lesson about the slave trade and a few treasure trinkets from the sunken ship. Shame on you Mel Fisher Museum! I remember the experience and the artifacts on display being so much more! What happened to all the treasure?? It's simple....stick to the story and show people what they paid money to see!

This was a fine tour for our family in Key West. Price of admission includes self guided tour of the exhibits. The exhibits themselves are nicely done. Appropriately and easily relates history of Key West, shipwrecks, and Mel's adventure/business in recovering the wrecks. Our family was glad we selected this museum to tour.

The gold exhibit, whiich was the best part of the museum, is no longer on display Some silver is still on display The museum is now mostly a slave ship museum The administrator said someone stole one of the gold bars, so the gold exhib, which was the great reason to go the museum, had been removed All jewelry items for sale are now imitations, not the real gold/silver couns The museum is a pale imitation of what it once was It should not be recommended at all
