The Loxahatchee River tour starts out narrow and twisty as it meanders its along its way downstream from Riverbend Park toward the Atlantic Ocean. The round-trip tour lasts approximately 2 hours from Riverbend Park down the river, depending on water and weather conditions. You’ll pass through an incredible cypress swamp, some sandy areas and thousands of species of plants and animals. The tour will often be under the shade of a beautiful canopy of cypress trees. Currents and water levels vary with the seasons. Portage may be necessary. Please review conditions and specific tour details with staff.

We were looking for something outdoors to do, and Wild and Scenic Kayaking seemed like a great choice.. our Instructor Richard was very knowledgeable about the river’s terrain, wildlife locations and behaviors, taught us a lot about the river ecosystem and even plants and trees native to the river, all while paddling forwards and backwards! In all our trip downstream then upstream was a good workout and we would definitely recommend this adventure!

What a lovely tour! I was a little apprehensive about kayaking with alligators but our guide Richard put us at ease. We knew we were in good hands. He made sure we were doing okay, since we had very little experience kayaking. He knew exactly where to find wildlife, and gave us a history of the area. He shared the pictures he took of our tour. We saw lots of turtles, some alligators - babies and adults, and a river otter. You will not be disappointed in this tour. The scenery is gorgeous!

Great tour guide, Richard. Knowledgeable, organized, and very kind. We took a two hour river trip on kayaks with four other guests. The small waterfall was fun, and seeing alligators, babies, mothers and fathers was fun. Lots of turtles and flying mullet. Richard had great stories about the river and the area. All the employees were kind and helpful-
