Foligno, an ancient town built in the middle of the Umbrian Valley, is traditionally considered the center of Italy and the world. The town is characterized by amazing medieval palaces and fascinating churches, such as the Romanesque-style church of Santa Maria Infraportas. You will be then guided in the mainsquare of Foligno, Piazza della Repubblica, and you will visit the Cathedral of San Feliciano, characterized by its two magnificent facades and the mixture of styles belonging to different eras: Gothic, Romanesque, Baroque and Neoclassical. Finally, you will admire the wonderful Palazzo Trinci, a medieval palace connected to the cathedral by a fascinating “suspension bridge” and built in the Gothic style in the early fifteenth century. Particularly famous is the precious cycle of frescoes painted by Gentile da Fabriano to embellish many halls of the palace, such as the notorious Hall of the Liberal Arts and Planets and the Hall of the Giants, decorated with monumental figures from the ancient Roman history, such as Emperors Augustus and Nero.

Il palazzo è curato in ogni dettaglio, affreschi e opere davvero da non perdere. I filmati al suo interno offrono delle spiegazioni chiare e ben organizzate. Da vedere

Foligno e' una bellissima citta' medievale da vistare sicuramente. Ricca di palazzi storici ,di chiese e di tutto cio' che rappresenta il medioevo umbro. Comodissima da raggiungere sia da Roma che da altre localita', visto che da Orte tramite la E45,vi trovate dopo circa mezz'ora di macchina, l'uscita che vi conduce al centro della citta'. Ben fornita anche di locali per la ristorazione e ottimo direi anche il rapporto qualita' prezzo per quanto riguarda le tariffe dei parcheggi. La consiglio anche a gruppi con bambini e non. Buona passeggiata
