We at "Foodies Day Out" offer you the chance to experience the local cuisine as the natives do. We take you to places where no guide book can lead you to. On this tour, we travel across the city of Madurai, to taste the best culinary dishes the city has to offer. We drive around in a car to eat the best signature dishes of our local eateries and also walk along the streets to indulge ourselves in uninhibited eating spree. You will get to taste some unique "madurai" dishes, such as paruthipaal (cotton seed milk), thennam kuruthu (bark of the coconut tree), bun parotta, the super delicious Jil Jil Jigar Thanda etc.

Such a fabulous, delicious and immersive experience - I absolutely loved it!! To really see truly local places and taste the unique cuisine of Madurai with Praveena on the Foodies Day Out tour was the highlights of my trip - she is the most knowledgeable tutor, but even more so is great fun to spend a few hours with. Totally recommend as a 'must-do' for any trip to southern India.

Excellent foody tour one of the best we have done, Mukunthan was lovely his local knowledge of the city & it’s top local food stops was great, every dish we tasted was delicious he also explained in detail regarding ingredients & at what meal the dishes would be consumed. He also was very patient in answering all our questions regarding local culture & lifestyles, We found his answers very informative.

We had such a lovely experience! Mukuntha was a wonderful "food guide" and made us try a lot of different and delicious South Indian dishes. I would raccomend it to anyone who wants to taste this incredible cuisine.
