The fly-in, fly-out helihike combines the excitement of walking on the Fox Glacier with the thrill of helicopter flights. By flying in you are able to access and explore a part of the glacier where its forces work hardest and often create spectacular ice caves and arches. Each departure is a true voyage of exploration. There are so many changing features that the guides always find something new. Weather permitting; ice time is up to 3 hours.
  • Leather boots and socks
  • Wet Weather Jacket and Over trousers (if required)

  • Bring 3 - 4 layers of warm upper body clothing
  • Sunglasses and sun protection

The team at Fox were the best glacier guides we’d come across. Their helpfulness and hospitality were second to none. Jenna went the extra mile to make me and my partners day. I discussed many technological glacial terms with her and loved learning more about the glaciers and the surrounding area. Give these guys a go you won’t regret it!

Luckily weather was with us as it had rained all the day before. Beautiful day! We were supplied rain pants, jackets, gloves, wool socks and boots. Heli flight was fun and fast, up on the glacier in no time. Gina, our guide was great at showing us around. It is a hike across a glacier. Sites we saw, the whole glacier, a crevasse, water falls, rockfalls, caves, more glacier. Gina was knowledgeable about the glacier. Great experience.

Even though a glacier changes everyday, these guys seem to know how to handle the entite proces very well. From everything to administration, prepwork, heli’s and on the glacier with our guide Cam, it was al perfectly done. We had a great ánd safe experience. Thank you all!
