We did the “wine tour” - basically just a museum with a tasting at the end. Would probably be interesting if you’ve never done wine tasting before but it’s very basic. Feels very touristy. Wine was not great.

Visite très interessante d'une chouette cave, nous avons pu gouter huit vins avec un accompagnement de fromages et charcuterie, la degustation est habilement guidée par Yanis. On ne peut que recommander cet établissement.

We were extremely lucky to have a personal tour of the Caves Ambacia, travelling in February! Our guide was excellent, explaining the whole process of wine production from start to finish, but in layman’s terms! The caves are very historic, having been dug by hand into the limestone hillside but a perfect setting to produce and store wine made from a selection of locally grown grapes. We enjoyed the interactive activities based around aromas and eventually tasting. It is possible to sample wines with local cheeses and charcuterie in the on site bistro. We came away much more knowledgable about Vouvray wine and were delighted to purchase a few bottles! Shipping is available at very competitive prices. Great value for money.
