    Complete guided tour of the City during which we will see the fortifications and the exteriors of the count's castle. We can also visit the Count's castle (entrance fee 9 euros 50 /person) to discover its defensive system, its keep and its lapidary museum or evoke it from the outside. We will end our discovery with the astonishing Basilica of St-Nazaire and St-Celse.

Beautiful city with its castle and ramparts, mythical place, it feels like another time! We never tire of the beauty of the city A guided tour by the tourist office with a fantastic, passionate guide, (I don't remember her first name ????) a funny little lady full of energy who takes you into the history of Carcassonne, and then visit the castle with Fabrice, very interesting also and in addition to the visit of the citadel! Of course, there are many tourists and restaurants, souvenir shops, but this is normal! It's the ransom of fame!

The town was not too full this time of year, our tour guide was knowledgeable and enjoyable, and we had a great time!

We weren't sure what to expect other than an old fort and references to knights. We were so mistaken! Not only was there so much to see in the old town, from stone ramparts to restaurants to sword shops, but Anne was a superb tour guide! She was knowledgeable and full of interesting information about Carcassonne across the ages. She shared facts and humor across English and French (she also speaks Spanish), and was happy to focus on the parts that interested us. She also offered suggestions on restaurants and bars. She even helped us discuss sword construction with one of the shop owners. In short, she was friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible for us. We definitely want to come back, and highly recommend Anne as a guide!
