The people, the food, and the view from our B&B were magnificent. Truly a city of beauty. We took in much of the city by foot. Very easy to navigate.

Revisiting a city you have known in the past but somehow not returned for many years can either disappoint or in the case of lyon make you question yourself on why it has been so long. Much more to see as well. Please make sure you walk down the Quaiside of the Soane towards Confluence.

Due giorni a Lyon per comprendere che ne vale proprio la pena. Dalla Cattedrale, alla bella e particolare architettura della città antica, e i due importanti corsi d'acqua (Rodano e il Saona) che danno spazio a veri e propri hotel galleggianti. Grandi vie eleganti dove non mancano le più importanti firme della moda. Un completo sistema di metropolitana, che funziona del tutto in modo automatizzato. Tutto perfettamente pulito, senza neppure un mozzicone di sigaretta per terra. Che dire..... grande senso civico, e rispetto delle regole si notano molto durante il tour nella città. Oltretutto si mangia bene e questo non guasta. La città dei Lumiere, ovvero delle luci e la città dei F. Lli Lumiere, che danno il nome, guarda caso al museo del cinema, dove oltre alle statue di cera di personaggi famosi e del cinema presenta delle miniature di set cinematografici tutti da scoprire. Suggestiva la basilica costruita a fine 800 che si vede da tutti i lati della città. Il Palazzo della Corte d'appello sembra un antico tempio "della legge", grazie ad un ampio colonnato in stile romano, quasi a rappresentare le antiche origini romane della città. Molto bella la place des jacobins, dove le prospettive dei palazzi si aprono davanti a una importante fontana che si presta da perfetto soggetto per ottime foto. Bella anche la piazza del Municipio di Lyon, che oltre alla bellezza reale del Palazzo stesso e delle strutture adiacenti, presenta una imponente fontana, dove i cavalli con zamze palmate, emettono fumo dalle narici come se fossero imbizzarriti. Lo spettacolo lascia tutti bloccati qualche minuto per ammirare questa particolarità. Consiglio di andarci.... ma senza dimenticare l'ombrello.....! Pioggia e sole ad aprile si alternavano di continuo.
