Meet your guide at the tourism office, Place Bellecour central Lyon and get aboard his minivan for a wonderful day in the Côtes du Rhône world. The northern part of the Rhône valley is reputed for its exceptional wines, several of them being classed amongst the finest in France. On this intimate tour we will give both winemaker and you the wine taster the opportunity to meet up and share a few words about terroir.     You will start with a breathtaking view overlooking the vines and the Rhône River at the Hermitage hill Belvedere. Your guide will tell you about the story of this mythical wine.

    you will push the door of a local winery and taste 5 or 6 different Côtes du Rhône wine varieties. Among them, you will find the excellent AOC wines : Hermitage and Croze-Hermitage. You will taste the best wine of the region and see beautiful vine landscapes !

Guide provided no narrative at all during this tour. Literally just drove around. Lunch falsely advertised in description. . Program said guide would provide you with ideas on where to eat on your own. We thought lunch would be in town where we could choose where to eat and walk around. Instead taken to a gated hotel with an extremely limited and expensive menu and no view. Just a regular dining room in a hotel lacking any charm. We had to eat inside this hotel with no choice on even leaving after we finished. Service also beyond slow, item ordered was raw (fish) and no flavor. Sat there for over 2 hours which instead could have been utilized sightseeing in town. Others in our group felt the same way. We paid for a wine tour and not to sit in some hotel paying for food that was poor quality without even being able to walk around town. Not as advertised at all. Contacted customer service with no response. Never taking an aviator tour again.

The tour was great - informative, fun, and a great way to see the Rhône River valley. Wines were fantastic, the wineries interesting, and the lunch was delicious.

Our tour guide was Martin and he also brought his wife along who was also amazing as both had a lot of tidbits to share about Lyon and the wineries along the Rhône Valley. I loved the intimate tour as it felt like just the right amount of people and it was really great getting to know everyone during the tour and at lunch. Martin graciously stopped and allowed us to get some chocolates near the last winery and we ended the tour with great views! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Lyon!!
