Meet your local guide at 2.00 pm in front of the tourist office of Reims Centre train station and start your afternoon with a drive through the countryside. Visit a family-run winery, discover the traditional press and tank room as your guide details the champagne making process. Appreciate several tastings of their production. Appreciate a stop in the vineyard, with breathtaking views on the UNESCO world’s heritage Champagne vines and gain knowledge about the particularities of our “terroir”. Drive through the village of Hautvillers and visit the church where Dom Pérignon is buried. Finish your tour with a visit at another family-run winery where you will be able to taste and compare various cuvées. After an afternoon full of precious souvenirs, your guide will drop you off in front of Reims centre train station between 6.30 pm and 7.00 pm.

The tour was amazing. Our guide met us at the Tourist office just outside the Reims railway station. We had a wonderful time for 5 hours almost. Caution..do NOT book 6:45 return train to Paris. Book the 7:45 pm train. Thankfully in our group, everyone had 7:45pm train booking. Everyone should take at least 45 minutes gap between trip finish time and train departure time. I applied my past life experience (I have visited 29 countries till now) and booked 7:45 pm return train to paris

I can’t speak highly enough about this tour. Tomas, our guide is an expert on the Champagne making process and delivered the information with an infectious enthusiasm. Our group bonded quickly and we enjoyed the day together as a group of friends. The two champagne houses we visited were so welcoming and the Champagne was of course, excellent! The town of Epernay and the surrounding vineyards are stunning. To visit with an expert guide made the experience all the more enjoyable. After the tour we all went for dinner in Reims, including Tomas our guide. The perfect end to a perfect day.

Our guide Suzanne was excellent and as a result the tour exceeded our expectations. Going to small producers gave a better feel for the whole process of making champagne. The tastings gave a good feel for the part that the various grapes contribute to the process.
