The boats for rent are located in Matira, on the beach of the HOTEL MAITAI.
Upon request, we'll be pleased to offer free roundtrip car transfer from the main island.
If staying in a Resort located on a motu (except Four Seasons & St Regis), you'll just need to take the shuttle boat of the hotel and we’ll meet you upon arrival at the pier.

After a group snorkeling tour our first day in Bora Bora, we wanted more time to go back and snorkel at the coral garden. This was a fun and inexpensive way to do so at our own pace. We stayed at the Westin and took the hotel shuttle to the main land in the morning and were picked up on time and taken to the rental location. The ladies there were very friendly and after some paperwork and short explanation, we were on our way and had a great time.

This is a great way to get on the water, travel to snorkel spots and pristine beach, and "sea" the landscape. This is a rigorous activity and you need to be able to clamber back in the boat from the water. Give yourself a good 30 minute to get familiar with the boat operation and anchoring/un-anchoring.

We rented 3 small self-drive boats from La Plage in Bora Bora and had a wonderful time. The staff were there to pick us up on time and with a very quick trip to their office, completion of the paperwork and some quick instructions, we were on our way. The boats are not fast and we were told to keep to eastern part of the lagoon, with a stop at a coral garden and a beach. We only rented them for ½ a day and would have gone further is we’d had more time. Again, the staff were very helpful and even dropped us off at the Bora Bora Beach club for lunch before we took a taxi back to the port to board our ship. Overall, we had a great time. One piece of advice – be careful anchoring if you go to the coral garden – the anchor chains are not very ling and we had a major issue finding the right spot to stop. Thankfully one of La Plage’s staff followed us and helped.
