During this tour with a professional and cheerful guide, we will discover the Venetian (and not only) past of the Friulian capital. We will visit the places that have marked its thousand-year history. The influence of the long Venetian rule is still clearly visible in the architecture of the squares, loggias and stately buildings. Nicknamed "city of Tiepolo" for the many artistic works left by this famous Venetian baroque painter. The historic center extends around the hills with the castle at the top. From here at the top, your view will sweep over the red roofs of the city and then fly towards the Alps. Udine is an elegant and convivial city, dense cafes, excellent restaurants, taverns serving typical Friulian dishes and wine bars to enjoy a good glass of wine. Elbrich (Ellen) gave us a wonderful walking tour of historic Udine, allowing us to see the city in a light that only a professional guide can provide. The tour lasted two hours, and it included a number of stops in some of the city’s most interesting buildings and locations. She’s a warm and engaging person, and we’d easily hire her again if we came back to this beautiful region of Italy.

Getting a personal tour of my grandparents’ hometown. We liked the pedestrian-only area, the architecture, and especially the cathedral at the end. Our guide gave us an in-depth explanation of the history of the area which was impressive. Highly recommend this tour.
