Searching for an affordable and fun way to get out to the famous Salt Lick BBQ and two (2) beautiful Texas Hill Country wineries? Look no further! This Hill Country BBQ and Wine Shuttle is great for solo travelers, couples, and small groups. The shuttle departs from the Austin Visitor Center at 10:30AM and heads out to the Driftwood area of the Texas Hill Country approx. 35-45 minutes southwest of Austin. Enjoy comfortable transportation in a Mercedes Sprinter van with a friendly local guide. Spend 45-50 minutes at each stop. Food/drinks not included in the shuttle price; guests pay directly at the restaurant and wineries.

  • Tour departs from the AUSTIN VISITOR CENTER located at 602 E. 4th Street, Austin, TX 78701.
  • Minimum drinking age is 21 years old.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to start time for check in. We are unable to delay the tour for guests who arrive late.
  • Parking is available in the Austin Convention Center Garage which is connected to the Austin Visitor Center. Enter the garage on E 5th St between Red River and Sabine.
  • The tour runs rain or shine, however we reserve the right to cancel the tour in the event of extreme weather and/or hazardous road conditions that would potentially affect the safety of our guides and guests.
  • Guests with limited mobility are welcome to bring a wheelchair or portable scooter on board to be folded and placed in the rear of the van. The vans are not equipped with a ramp or wheelchair lift however, so all guests must be able to step up into the vehicle (about 12 inches).
  • If you have cold or flu-like symptoms or if you are feeling ill in any way, please do not join the tour.
You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance of the experience for a full refund.
  • For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.
  • If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded.
  • Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.
  • Cut-off times are based on the experience’s local time.
  • This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund.

We had so much fun on our BBQ and Wine tour with Scott! Booked this for my partner's birthday and everyone we met in the tour was super friendly. We headed to Salt Lick first which has food and drinks available for purchase then went off to the wine tastings (would recommend ordering a lot of BBQ here and taking leftovers home for reheating post-tour!). Scott was very personable and knowledgeable on all things wine, BBQ, and Austin/Texas. Nothing bad to say about being in an air conditioned van that takes you to eat BBQ and drink wine haha. Would highly recommend!

The tour guide Kandace was simply wonderful. Very knowledgeable about the BBQ and wine history. Her personality made the tour very exciting and fun. Pick up location was convenient from our hotel. I would definitely recommend this tour for anyone wanting to see the hill country and learn about the BBQ and wine history.

I went for my birthday and had the best time. This was the highlight of my weekend in Austin. Jax, the tour guide, was amazing. She was sweet and patient. The other people on the tour were kind and made the tour even more enjoyable. This is definitely something that I would do again!
