Join our approximately 7-hour small group tour to explore the stunning temples outside Angkor Thom, including the intricately carved Banteay Srei.     Today we visit the most interesting temples outside Angkor Thom city. Departing your hotel at 8.00 am, you begin with first stop at Pre Rup Hindu temple built as the state temple of Khmer king Rajendravarman and dedicated in 961 or early 962. It is a temple mountain of combined brick, laterite and sandstone construction.

  • Banteay Srei, Siem Reap, Cambodia
    Continue a drive for the intricately carved and well-preserved Banteay Srei. The detailed reliefs on this smaller sandstone structure are regarded as the finest, most skillfully crafted in Cambodia. Banteay Srei has only been accessible since the late 1990s, when the Khmer Rouge left the area. We end our touring at Angkor with lunch at the temple (own expense), and a short rest.

Preah Khan is currently being restored by the World Monument Fund and in places is in remarkably good condition.

We had a wonderful day with Pal and Naro taking us round the surrounding temples of the Angkor heritage site. Pal explained everything really well, he was funny and informative and left time for questions throughout. The pace was excellent and you could tell how passionate Pal was about the culture and history. Pal used his iPad to assist in the delivery of the information, with written explanations and images also which was a great touch, especially for people like myself who are visual learners. We saw 9 temples on the first day which was great to optimise the day. Pal was very accommodating with taking pictures, so solo travellers won't miss out on picture opportunities. Naro was also very generous when returning to the bus, providing cold water and towels. We asked if we could leave a day between the sunrise and sunset tour, and Pal and the company were very accommodating, allowing us to do this with no extra cost. I would highly recommend this tour for all travelers.

Very well organized tour. Guide gave detailed information of each site visited and was excellent company during the day. He was able to advise where to get the best photo opportunities. His iPad was used to support his presentations. This was an excellent day tour.

This tour was awesome - we were able to see 9 temples, including banteay srei, the one furthest out with gorgeous sandstone, and finishing off with the sunset at phnom bakheng. Pal Saruon was our awesome guide- he shared so much info, and his iPad was really handy for showing us various images and terms. Lastly, Pals energy and his enthusiasm for the temples was so great! The driver, Naro, is really helpful as well. I'd highly recommend Pal and Naro, and the tour company Journey Cambodia!
