Tour the best that Furnas has to offer. Bath in hot springs, visit beautiful botanical garden Terra Nostra, and explore the 'Cozidos' area, eating traditional foods cooked underground for lunch. Start the tour on the south coast of the island, stopping at several viewpoints along the way. Visit the Furnas calderas to see a big part of the volcanic activity. See the many ways the energy form the volcano is used through the community. After lunch, taste some local liqueurs of the region. On the way back, stop at the beautiful viewpoints of the island. As the final stop, taste some tea at the local Gorreana Tea Factory, before being returned.

We did several tours with Samuel of Green Corner Tours while on the island of São Miguel recently, including Sete Cidades, Furnas, and a Ponta Delgada city tour. I can't recommend Sam enough. He is knowledgeable, friendly, gracious, accommodating, and speaks English fluently. Despite some days of inclement weather, Sam filled our days with fun, humor, good food, local artisans, and interesting sights to see. Sam's guided tours enhanced our trip to São Miguel immeasurably! If you're looking for a guide in the Azores, look no further. Green Corner Tours is outstanding.

My wife and I just finished a week on Sao Miguel island with an amazing waterfall hike guided by Sam. All in we completed 4 tours with #greencornertours and each was very informative and professionally led, felt like we got a real feel for the island.
