    Straight drive from Timisoara ( around 3h drive ) all the way to the Danube Gorge where we will be taking about the biggest rock sculpture in Europe and get some great photos of Decebal, the last king of the Dacians.

  • Danube Gorge, Mehedinti County, Romania
    Our journey continues with the highlight of our trip - a motor boat ride on through the Danube Gorge. The narrowest part of the Danube river is right here, creating a natural border between Romania and Serbia and we'll explore the 9km by motorboat.

  • Pestera Veterani, Orsova, Romania
    During our motorboat ride, we will make two stops to see two caves. Inside the first cave, named Veterani, we will hop off and explore a natural cave that had an important role during Austrian times.

  • Pestera Ponicova, Dubova, Romania
    Our second cave is Ponicova, where we'll be going inside by boat. Just a bit, as the space is thight, but enough for us to see how impressive the cave is, at is is the largest cave in the Danube Gorge.

  • "Buraul Mare" Waterfall, Moldova Noua, Romania
    After exploring the Danube Gorge we'll be driving along the river for an hour and a half till we get to one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Banat. We'll walk through the forest for 5 minutes to get there.

  • Modavita Waterfall, Moldova Noua, Romania
    Last stop for the day will be Modavita Waterfall, which is unique in shape, some people saying it looks like a dog with its mouth open. The green moss that covers it will definitely amaze you.

It was a fabulous trip to the Banat with amazing guide Sergiu. It was worth every penny. We 2 Indians were on business trip to Timisora and had a weekend in hand to spend. We contacted Sergiu and he was on time to pick us up from hotel. While traveling we had great time talking about Romanian culture, geography, history and best places to visit. Sergiu is full of energy and answered every question we asked. He has great commitment towards guest and very warm nature which made us comfortable during entire trip. Locations are great and you get enough time to see all those places with comfort. Overall loved the places, food and guide. I really recommend if someone is visiting Timisora and have a day to spend. Loved this experience -- really cool opportunity to see the gorgeous Romanian countryside and some unique attractions of the river rock statue and the flour mills. Sergiu was an exceptional guide - super knowledgable and friendly, with many great suggestions for my time in the region. I really enjoyed this excursion and am happy that I managed to do it while visiting Timisoara!

Quick and easy day trip to see a lot and learn a lot of the region, customs and history. Highly recommend, special thanks to Sergiu of expanding my knowledge of Romania!
