First step of this excursion Kairouan, the 4th holy city of Islam and spiritual capital of Tunisia. You will visit the Great Mosque which is the oldest religious building of the Muslim West. Afterwards, you will discover the "mausoleum of the barber" and you will have free time in the medina. You will also have the opportunity to visit the Aghlabid basins, built in the 9th century, to supply the city of Kairouan with drinking water. Continuation towards the city of El Jem the ancient city of Thysdrus, one of the most prosperous of Roman Africa, for the visit of its Amphitheater.

La visita fue muy interesante y completa, tanto por lo visitado y lo vivido como por las explicaciones del guía y del chófer. La comida en el restaurante fue tipo bufé. Estuvo bien. Debido a las distancias entre las localidades pasamos algún tiempo en el coche, pero se hizo muy ameno charlando con el guía y el chofer que estaban prestos a contestar todas nuestras preguntas sobre el país.

Nuestro guía nos llevó a la Mezquita de Kairouan y el mausoleo de un compañero de Mahoma. Fue muy interesante pero entre medias visitamos una cooperativa de alfombras donde prácticamente vas a que te vendan una alfombra sin pedirlo (creo que esto no venía en el plan). Además el lunch que nos dieron al llegar a el Djem fue escaso (puedes quedarte con algo de hambre) - y la bebida no estaba incluida!!! Como he dicho, merece la pena pero es muy mejorable.
