Santa Cruz Huatulco, 70987 Santa María Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico
Santa Cruz Bay, Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico The bay of Santa Cruz was the most important port in New Spain at the beginning of the 16th century. We will tell the legend of the Holy Cross and how the English and Dutch pirates appropriated the place for almost 2 centuries. 15 minutes
Playa La Entrega, La Crucecita, Oaxaca, Mexico It is a historic beach where in 1831 after being betrayed in Acapulco, the president of the Mexican republic, General Vicente Guerrero was handed over to the military loyal to the authors of the coup and taken near the city of Oaxaca to be tried and shot.
This beach is also known for its crystal clear waters and for its coral reef.
Huatulco National Park, Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico Entering the waters of the Huatulco National Park we will see one of the largest blowholes in the world known as the "Bufadero" where we will have time to take photos or videos. In the national park it is forbidden to build in concrete, nothing but "palapas or cabins" with exceptional permission. All the next 4 bays that we will see are within the limits of the national park. 180 minutes
Bahia Maguey y el Organo, Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico The first two bays that we will see within the national park are the "Organo" and the "Maguey".
The virgin bay of the "Organ" is famous for an incredible stone face that nature made herself named "La Cara Mizteca"
The bay of "Maguey" has its name from the green color of its waters, similar to the leaves of the cactus of the same name, with which we distil Tequila and Mezcal.
On the way we will pass without stopping and on the way back we will stop for 2 hours to enjoy very fresh seafood at the restaurant recommended by your guide.
The specialty of the coast is pineapple stuffed with seafood. First cut a pineapple in two, remove the pulp and fill it with a bechamel sauce with seafood to your liking, after distributing cheese on top it is passed into a wood oven to gratin it.
Another specialty is the "four by four". Huatulco is a good place for shrimp that are 16 in this dish, cooked in four different ways. Also dishes with meats. 120 minutes
Bahia de Cacaluta, Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico Place where they filmed Mexican movies like "Y tu mama tambien" and several commercials for television. The beach seen from the sky looks like a heart or a bird flying according to your own imagination.
In front of this island is the island of Cacaluta where deer are sometimes seen swimming from the beach to eat.
This bay is part of the national park. 6 minutes
Chachacual, Huatulco, Oaxaca, Mexico Chachacual is the name given to the constructions made of four small trunks and a roof of palm leaves to provide shade, by the turtle fishermen before this activity was prohibited.
Today it is a virgin beach, part of the national park where they will practice snorkeling. Locals from the neighboring bay of San Agustín rent umbrellas and sell coconuts, beers, piña colada and other drinks. Depending on the number of people, two or three certified guides will give you a class on how to use the equipment, they will accompany you and show you a magnificent coral plate and all these colored fish that live around. Returning from the snorkeling activity they will have some thirty minutes to rest or have a cold beer.
They will return to the Maguey Bay in a journey of about 40 minutes where they can enjoy their food.
We will remember that in Mexico since the end of the 70's turtle fishing is prohibited and it is an animal protected by law. 110 minutes
