Do not miss one of the most interesting modern and contemporary art museums in the city. Enjoy the artistic offer of Catalonia through the pictorial and sculptural work of Antoni Tàpies, one of the great referents of informalism. The Fundació Antoni Tàpies has a collection of works by the author himself and also organizes temporary exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. Currently, the following can be visited: Roman Ondak. Infinitum and Tapies. Wood, paper, cardboard and collages, both available until November 22, 2023. The Museum is located in a landmark industrial modernist building. Located near Passeig de Gracia and Rambla Catalunya, Casa Batlló and the Apple of Discord.

    The Fundació Antoni Tàpies was created in 1984 by the artist Antoni Tàpies to promote the study and knowledge of modern and contemporary art. One of Spain's most important 20th-century artists, Tàpies was known for his experimental style and mixed media pieces that brought non-artistic materials into his paintings. The Fundació, set up by Tàpies himself, not only houses an array of his work but also hosts up-and-comers in the art scene. It features an ever-changing display. You can also enjoy the beauty of the Modernista building itself - the first of its kind in Barcelona. It was designed by master architect Lluís Domènech.

Lovely small museum with Tapies and guest exhibits. Glad we got the art passport and got to see this one.

Nos sorprendió las pocas obras que tiene expuestas el museo. Fuimos para conocer un poco más la cultura de nuestro país y ciudad y salimos decepcionados. El museo en menos de 30 minutos se puede visitar, pues las obras expuestas son escasas y las explicaciones también. No lo recomendaríamos por nada del mundo.

Es un edificio precioso, tiene una magnífica biblioteca. La terraza maravillosa, pero encontré que hay pocas obras de Tapies. Pero de todas formas es muy interesante
