This day trip to Moulay Idriss,
Volubilis and Meknes was a bit underwhelming. It's not a guided tour, you will be driven around and that's pretty much it. We paid 70 euros (700 dirham) and we were in a car with six people + the driver.
The first stop, Moulay Idriss, was not a particularly interesting spot. We got half an hour to spent there, and we spent most of it in a cafe drinking some tea.
Volubilis is quite interesting and impressive, but it's good to know some of them are restored Roman ruins (ie they were restored to look like ruins after an earthquake destroyed the actual ruins).
Meknes is quite pretty but all its monuments are being renovated. The mausoleum was the only one we could visit. It's pretty, but not really worth a day's travel.
Our driver was a nice guy, but he spoke mostly Spanish as there were some Spanish speaking people on the group. Which was not great for me, since I don’t speak any Spanish. Even though he often translated what he said, it still felt like I was missing out on crucial information.
