Discover our most prestigious holy site, Fátima. Come in this journey to discover Portuguese culture and history in one of the most stunning places our country has to offer. This is where "Our Holy Lady of Fátima" appeared to three sheppard children in 1917. In May 2017, two of the children were canonized by Pope Francis himself. It is a place most Popes come to visit during their reigns. We highly recommend making this trip between March-October and enjoy the famous Fátima Candle Procession.

Fatima is such a peaceful place.
It's not hard to find a Mass going on. Ricardo was so gracious to walk the stations of the cross with us. He took excellent care of us.

All the sights listed on this tour, and the few extra our guide took us too are absolutely worth taking this tour for. My mother and I started in Fatima, which was amazing. We took a private tour because my mom is very religious and wanted to do certain activities that with a group would not be possible and it was her birthday, so I wanted to make this especially special for her. Our guide Teresa was absolutely the perfect fit for us and made sure my mom was able to do everything she wanted to. We started with a tour of the entire new modern church in Fatima followed by a mass at the Basilica, located next to the oak tree where the apparition of the Blessed Mother occurred. My mother and I after mass both purchased the most beautiful rosaries, which we will cherish for life! My mother wanted to pray the entire rosary in the Basilica prior to leaving Fatima, and Teresa allowed her to do so, just waiting outside. She was unbelievably patient, kind and thoughtful throughout the entire tour. After we lit a candle, we left to see the actual homes of the shepherd children in a small village a few miles away. This is a must see. Later, we saw Nazaré -a favorite place of Teresa’s, and saw the beach that has the world record for the biggest wave and the most beautiful church where there is a relic from the 700s. Next, we saw the Alcobaça Monastery with a famous, original pastry shop across the street that Teresa pointed out. There, because it was my mother's birthday, Teresa sung her happy birthday in Portuguese. We had small sweets and cakes recommended by Teresa, making it one birthday my mother will never forget! Finally, we visited the gated ancient city Obidos...complete with castle, which was AMAZING. After, we returned back and Teresa dropped us back near our Airbnb at a restaurant she recommended, that had the best codfish we had our entire trip to Portugal. Our local Teresa made us feel welcome and comfortable wherever we went, and provided us translation, knowledge of good eateries and driving so we could sit back and enjoy!
