We had a great tour with Shane. He is from the area, and happy to share his extensive knowledge about local history, politics and culture. We saw a lot and learned a great deal as we toured the Capitol city with our personable, insightful guide.

My husband and I arrived early in Johannesburg to explore the area prior to going on a safari. Initally we hired Shane for a day tour of Pretoria (his hometown) but ended up asking him to guide us for 3 full days. That ended up being a great decision -- he guided us around Pretoria, Johannesburg, Apartheid Museum, Soweto, the Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve and Cradle of Humankind. Shane was knowledgeable and provided great insights into the sad but fascinating history and current everyday life in the area. The days were both fun and informative. He did a wonderful job of customizing the itinerary for each day based on our interests and timing. We highly recommend Shane if you are looking for personal attention from a great local guide!
