  • Hector Pieterson Museum and Memorial, Soweto, South Africa
    The Hector Pieterson Memorial Museum opened in 2002, not far from the spot where 12-year-old Hector was shot on the 16 June 1976 during the Soweto uprising. Hector was one of the youths that died in the protest against having Afrikaans as the medium of instruction in local schools.

Delone was an amazing guide. He was extremely knowledgeable as he is from Soweto and answered all our questions. We learnt a lot that day and truly immersed ourselves in South African culture by dining at the best local grill restaurant at Orlando towers! Thanks for a great day Delone! I highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to learn more about Soweto, Apartheid and South African history.
