I got a golden opportunity to visit the famous Straits and Oriental Museum in Paragon, Penang. The St. Jo’s building which the museum is at, was a heritage itself yet it bring a sense of contemporary ambience. located at the third floor, the museum has various departments that have collectibles and artifacts from on different subjects and historical periods on display, the artifacts was well presented with information and facts, the museum also smartly adopting the QR technology where it increase the interaction with younger generation where they could just scan the QR code for more details on one particular artifacts of interest.
After a stroll at the museum, it is easy to grab a drink at WM's Cafe or the St. Jo's Restaurant & Bar... which located in the same building.
and while at it, the MING Arts' Gallery often showcase fantastic Art pieces by renown artist, I am glad that I get to witness the great work from Mr Tony Wong (黄玉郎), this brings back childhood memory, it reminds me of waiting at the bookstall every week just to get the next chapter of the comic.
Overall the whole experience at SO museum is pleasant and nice, I would recommend everyone to pay a visit. Don't forget to grab some souvenir at the souvenir shop when you visit....
