Was a long day but felt like we didn’t see anything really. The driver was 45 mins late as he forgot his passport, the guide was ok but constantly talked about random stuff. No free time at any of the stops literally marched around at a speedy rate. Yerevan was extremely rushed specifically to get to the lake stop. This isn’t a lake stop it’s a trip to a monastery overlooking the lake with stalls of stuff to buy as souvenirs. We were told it would be cheap and don’t buy any souvenirs elsewhere (not that we had any time even if we wanted to). We actually found the stalls expensive and quite frankly poor quality. This stop also advertised a restaurant overlooking the lake where we would have lunch- not the case. For some reason we went there last, way past lunch…. Didn’t visit a restaurant instead were taken to an awful motorway type food stop (passing loads of nice looking restaurants on the way). Food was dreadful, cold and just not nice. We ended up at the end of the trip feeling tired, hungry and like we hadnt really seen anything of Yerevan. Loads of nice scenery on route but we didn’t stop to appreciate any of it. There was a couple of really interesting looking monuments which we literally wizzed past. We weren’t even given the option to do our own thing for an hour in Yerevan and meet at a specific point, instead we were forced to do what the guide wanted to do, spent 20 mins outside the opera house being told what her friend told her it looks like inside. Last stop was perhaps the worst, told its a ski resort, important village, very beautiful. We parked on a roundabout and given 10 mins to look at a boating lake whilst the guide got coffee then all back on the bus. We didn’t see the village….. I would not recommend this trip at all. I’m not even sure why I’ve given it two stars, probably because it was a long day and I appreciate the fact that they took the time to take us.
