3 different eras of Georgian history just in one day! The picturesque Mtskheta is the former capital of Georgia and its cradle of Christianity, while Uplistsikhe cave town was once the center of Pagan culture and Gori is famous for being the home town of the most famous Soviet leader Joseph Stalin.
You will think that you are traveling with a time machine but it is just our car which is driven through these historical places! The tour covers 2 UNESCO World Heritage sites, Svetitskhoveli cathedral and Jvari monastery.

Jvari Church, Mtskheta, Georgia First we will drive uphill and visit Jvari Monastery (Monastery of the Cross) which is a sixth century Georgian Orthodox Monastery near town of Mtskheta and along with other historic structures of Mtskheta it is listed as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Jvari Monastery stands on the rocky mountaintop and overlooks the confluence of the 2 different rivers Aragvi and Mtkvari and the town of Mtskheta which was formerly the capital of the Kingdom of Iberia. Here you will be able to take some beautiful pictures with breathtaking views. 30 minutes
Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, Mtskheta, Georgia Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (Cathedral of the Living Pillar) is located in the historic town of Mtskheta and it is currently the second largest church building in Georgia after the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Tbilisi. Svetitskhoveli is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The cathedral is one of the most sacred places in Georgia and the place where Christ’s robe is said to be buried. Mtskheta was capital of the early Georgian Kingdom of Iberia from the 3rd century BC to the 5th century AD. However Mtskheta continued to serve as the coronation and burial place for most kings of Georgia until the end of the kingdom in the 19th century. 30 minutes
Stalin Museum, Gori, Georgia Joseph Stalin Museum is one of the most visited places by tourists who are interested in history of Joseph Stalin (Ioseb Jughashvili) the leader of the Soviet Union who was born in Gori. The Museum retains its Soviet-era characteristics, inciuling Stalin's original house in which Stalin was born in 1878 and spent his first four years and Stalin's railway carriage which is armour plated and weighs 83 tons! 40 minutes
Uplistsiche Cave Town, Gori, Georgia Uplistsikhe (Fortress of the Lord) the rock-hewn cave town is situated 7 km southeast of Gori on the left bank of the River Mtkvari. The history of Uplistsikhe goes back to the 2nd-1st millenniums B.C. in antiquity. The site still amazes the visitors by its dimensions, extraordinary position, refined forms and the beauty of landscape. You will find huge echoing halls, long meandering corridor-streets, chambers for pagan worship and even the remains of Georgia's oldest theater there. You will be impressed by the skill, knowledge, experience and physical and spiritual power of all those, who created this unique monument. 60 minutes

I had the chance to visit such exceptional places and enjoy the amazing views! The most I liked Jvari Monastery and Uplistsikhe Cave Town.
