Igoeti - Akhmaji, Lamiskana, Georgië Overlooking beautiful kartli valleys and surrounding mountains,Orbeliani palace in Lamiskana resembles a typical Georgian feudal edifice of the 18th century.Built as a residence and a castle for Dukes of Ksani it was developed later when a palace was built on the southern curtain wall.
Orbeliani Castle has a rectangular ground plan with round corner towers. It was built on the edge of a mountain slope looking out over the Ksani River valley.
Our private guided visit to the courtyard, palace and tower will take you back to the time when the palace housed various royal meetings, heroic events, glorious victories and feudal intrigues, where many military campaigns where held from, From its beautifully carved wooden balconies you can see several fortified castles on the the horizon’s verge, believed all of them to be connected to the palace through 5-km-long secret tunnels

Samtavisi Cathedral, Kaspi, Georgia The imposing cathedral at Samtavisi is a special place to visit,with its Gothic-like,huge dimensions,grandious interior vaults and extremely elaborate and detailed stone work momentarily hypnotizing all visitors.Here,every single decoration,pattern and engraving has been harmoniously aged to perfection.
According to the history,the first church on this place was built by Assyrian monk Isidore in 572 which was rebuilt later in the X century.The present-day edifice was consecrated in 1030.

The complex has suffered considerable destruction over the centuries and currently only the main castle and the fragments of the other two castles remain.

Bebris Tsikhe Fortress, Mtskheta, Georgia Erected north of the town of Mtskheta-former capital of Georgia, Bebris Tsikhe counts 2000 years of its turbulent history. Archaeological excavations proved that the first fort was built here in the I C. A.D. and present-day castle was built on its ruins in the IX C.
After an easy leisure walk along the trail up to the hilltop where the castle is erected we can also throw the glance to several UNESCO Heritage cites; Jvari church and the town of Mtskheta as well as untamed river of Mtkvari and small islands there 30 minutes

Today we have an option to enjoy special wine-tasting and lunch in the town of Kaspi.at the small,family-run Merebashvili's winery you can enjoy the best of Georgian traditional hospitality and wine-making.Led by the youngest and the most motivated son of the family,Lasha we will be proudly shown every corner of the estate including the most tempting one-the wine cellar where the family has been making wines in traditional clay-jars.Here,we will learn about different types of grapes of this region,about the family's wine-making procedures followed by a tasting of several types of wines as well as the locally-made grape "fire-water"-Chacha -plus some home-made appetizers. After a visit to the wine-cellar and wine-tasting we will be kindly invited to enjoy our lunch with a family,serving different cold and hot dishes.Here we can taste some of the famous regional delicacies including Khabidzgina-cheese and potato bread. Our excellent tour guide Nick Mazanishvili made a huge difference in this tour.
Not only was he very well versed with the history and culture of this beautiful country but was very entertaining. Lots of fun and great sense of humor.
I am looking forward for another tour in Georgia in the next future with the same tour guide.
