Hot mess.
Never again…connected through ATL last weekend, we were flying from Barcelona to California. We used Mobile Passport Control to clear Customs; this took no time at all. The issues started once we collected our checked bags. We re-checked our bags and then were told to get in line to go through TSA again. There was no separate line for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry, the windowless room was at least 95 degrees, and there was only ONE security lane open with what looked like the first airport Xray machine ever made. It took almost an hour to get through. One TSA agent told my husband to proceed through the scanner, the TSA agent on the other end yelled at my husband to back up and exit the machine. Make up your mind!
We then went to the Delta Sky Lounge in Concourse B. One rep said we couldn’t use the scanner to get into the Lounge and needed to see the one lady at the desk to be admitted. We waited in line for at least 15 minutes before I decided to go try scanning our boarding passes. Of course it worked.
The Sky Lounge was loud & crowded, with kids running everywhere, no clean drinking glasses, etc. Not a great experience.
I do want to acknowledge Lana, who was working that afternoon in the Lounge, and was so kind and professional. She was absolutely wonderful.
Moral of this story: NEVER connect through ATL!
