Ephesus Terrace Houses, Selcuk, Turkey Terraced Houses, are located on the hill, opposite the Hadrian Temple. Also called “the houses of rich”, they are important for the reason that they give us an idea about the family life during the Roman period. They were built according to the Hippodamian plan of the city in which roads transected each other of right angles. 45 minutes
The Basilica of Saint John, Selcuk, Turkey St. John Basilica was a basilica in Ephesus. It was constructed by Justinian I in the 6th Century. It stands over the believed burial site of John the Apostle. It was modeled after the now last Church of the Holy Apostles in Constantinople. 30 minutes

Sirince Koyu, Sirince, Turkey Sirince Village, this pretty old Greek orthodox village, 12 km away from Ephesus, was once Cirkince (Ugly). Indeed its habitants gave this name of purpose as they did not want to be bothered by foreigners nor to share the beauty of their village. It was a great half day. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and felt genuinely well looked after. I would highly recommend booking with bergen tours.
I've been to pompei and I honestly think that the ephasus experience is its equal, especially the terrace houses.
