You will be picked up from your hotel then you will start your day to Fayoum which is one of Egypt’s oldest cities, set in the lush Fayoum Oasis and filled with countless natural and historical wonders . Then you will visit One of the city’s landmarks Lake Qarun . You will also visit Wady el-Hitan (Valley of the Whales), which is now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Inspiring wonder with ancient ruins, pyramids, and obelisks, present-day Fayoum is known also for its picturesque villages, pottery craft, and waterwheels, the latter having established itself as a prominent symbol for the town and oasis. Then you will be back to your hotel.

These fossils represent one of the major stories of evolution: the emergence of the whale as an ocean-going mammal from a previous life as a land-based animal. This is the most important site in the world for the demonstration of this stage of evolution

  • Fayoum Oasis, Al Fayyum, Egypt
    The Fayoum as it is known is the only artificial oasis, created not by water springing forth from the ground but by a long canal, naturally formed by the flooding Nile, that dates from Biblical times, called Joseph’s canal. This stretches from the Nile to the great lake of Birket Qarun. It is this huge lake, which on a rough day looks very much like the sea that gives a special character to the Fayoum. The lake used to be a major place for duck hunting and the hotels on its southern shore hosted such luminaries as Winston Churchill and King Farouk as they took potshots at flying birds. Though there is still some duck shooting there is far more bird watching both on this lake and the nearby Wadi Rayyan another artificially created expanse of water.

It was a great experience visiting Giza Pyramids at this time, I really enjoyed the time and knew some informations about the pyramids that I didn't know about before, thanks to the great guide!

This was a great experience and our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a great history of Cairo. He got us there early to take photos and got us back in time as requested. Very friendly, I recommend using him for any tour he offers in Cairo.
