Guaranteed Sightings!  7 Seas Whale Watch is located in the heart of historic downtown Gloucester, MA and in one of the busiest parts of Gloucester harbor. As soon as you board the Privateer you will be surrounded by the sights and sounds of Gloucester’s working waterfront. You may see fishing boats unloading fish, lobster men baiting and setting their traps, and perhaps even some of our indigenous wildlife such as Harbor seals, Gray seals, and various species of birds. The tour begins with a harbor tour of Gloucester Harbor starting with Cape Pond Ice (which most of you have seen on Wicked Tuna and ends at the Dog Bar Breakwater.  A typical trip is anywhere from 3-4 hours but may be extended if the whales move further out for feed.  The Privateer IV was built for 300 passengers but we only book to 150 to ensure the comfort and safety of our passengers and is equipped with restrooms, and on-board food Galley and bar.

We saw so many whales!! The trip was amazing. We learned a lot and thought it was really cool that other than the captain, the entire boat was run by young women!! Highly recommend!

This was my very first whale watch and it went so well! We saw at least 9 individual whales!! The staff knows so much about the whales and we had a naturalist and photographer on the ship that made announcements of where to look, how to stay safe, identify the whales as we saw them and told us their names, and announced fun information about the whales and their behaviors. The water was very choppy that morning but the staff and crew made sure everyone was safe and we had an awesome time on the boat. There is an upper open deck, lower edge deck, and a heated cabin on the bottom level and bathrooms. It took about 45 minutes to get out to the feeding grounds, about 2.5 hrs watching, and 45 minutes back. the town has a great main street and there are a lot of places to shop and eat. I suggest getting there early and going to Cake Ann for a blueberry muffin as it is amazing and the shop is right near where you check in and its a good place to stay warm! Wear layers and hats and gloves in the fall!

Great experience captain and crew were the best saw 4 different whales even saw a boat that had just caught a tuna got great photos of whale tails
