Mud Volcanoes, Qobustan, Azerbaijan Whenever we reach to Gobustan area, we will change our transport ( because, the road leading to Mud Volcanoes is in bad condition, so only specific cars specially russian cars can get there) and lead to the Mud Volcanoes.
Home to nearly a third of the world's mud volcano's, Azerbaijan features a messy, bubbling, and sometimes explosive landscape. Mud volcanoes are closely associated with hydrocarbon and petrochemical stores underground, hence the gas trying to escape to the surface. A few of these gas leaks are constantly on fire, shooting small perpetual flames into the air and some believe that these perpetual flames are strongly connected to the appearance of the Zoroastrian religion in Azerbaijan some 2,000 years ago.
Every 20 years or so, one of these mud/gas volcanoes will ignite deep below the surface and create a massive explosion. While generally not dangerous to people, as they are far outside of most city centers, it is believed that six shepherds and over 2,000 sheep were killed by a mud volcano in Bozdagh, Azerbaijan. 30 minutes
Gobustan Rock Art, Qobustan, Azerbaijan After coming back from Mud Volcanoes we get back to our car and go first to the Gobustan museum, and after spending some time there we lead to the Gobustan Rock Art (open air museum).
Gobustan State Reserve located west of the settlement of Gobustan, about 40 miles southwest of the centre of Baku was established in 1966 when the region was declared as a national historical landmark of Azerbaijan in an attempt to preserve the ancient carvings, mud volcanoes and gas-stones in the region.
Gobustan State Reserve is very rich in archeological monuments, the reserve has more than 6,000 rock carvings, which depict primitive people, animals, battle-pieces, ritual dances, bullfights, boats with armed oarsmen, warriors with lances in their hands, camel caravans, pictures of sun and stars, on the average dating back to 5,000-20,000 years. 90 minutes
Bibi-Heybat Mosque, Baku, Azerbaijan On the way back from Gobustan area we will pass through the Bibi-Heybat Mosque, where we will stop for a while 15 minutes
Heydar Aliyev Cultural Center, Baku, Azerbaijan As the last destination of our tour will be the Heydar Aliyev center. The Heydar Aliyev Center is a 57,500 m2 (619,000 sq ft) building complex in Baku, Azerbaijan designed by Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid and noted for its distinctive architecture and flowing, curved style that eschews sharp angles. The center is named after Heydar Aliyev, the first secretary of Soviet Azerbaijan from 1969 to 1982, and president of Azerbaijan Republic from October 1993 to October 2003. 20 minutes

Had a long layover in Baku and booked a private tour to see the most in the time I had. Very friendly and professional team, sorted the itinerary for me, met me at the airport and dropped back after the tour. Azar was super friendly and knowledgable. I found the tour was very interesting and I feel I saw a lot during my 11hrs in Baku. I would highly recommend Best Baku tours and would visit Baku again. Thanks again so much!

They sent us a driver not a guide when we stopped at the museum he couldn't explain and he was trying his level best until we asked for earphones to understand better, wanted to give them a second chance and asked for a quba tour when I gave anar my feedback about the first tour he told me I was not polite and when I asked for the price of another tour he said he didn't have good guides so he will provide a driver with 20 usd less than with a guide and when I negotiated he asked me to use bolt since its cheaper and I'm not good enough as a customer for them and blocked me on WhatsApp
