Porta Messina, Taormina, Italy During "The Godfather" tour, starting from Taormina, you will walk along the authentic picturesque streets of Savoca and Forza d'Agro remained unchanged since the movie was made, visit ancient churches, famous Bar Vitelli where Michael Corleone asked Apollonia's father her hand in marriage, church where they married, and other movie locations. Later, you will enjoy a traditional lunch, consisting of locally produced cheeses, salami, prosciutto, caponata, parmigiana, olives, extra virgin olive oil and fresh home-made bread and lemon sorbet, while having a with romantic sea view from the terrace.
Savoca, Savoca, Italy First stop is Savoca, an unspoilt medieval town that acted as stand-in for Corleone where Michael was hiding out during the "going to the mattresses" time.
You will walk to an ancient church of Santa Lucia, where Michael and Apollonia were married kneeling in the doorway. Then follow the same path down the hill that the newlyweds did, and visit another old church dating back to the 13th century. Walking along the fabulous streets of Savoca, on a good day you can also meet some actors - for example a lady who played Apollonia's mother and who still lives in Savoca.
Later, optionally you can visit a family-owned restaurant and at a terrace with romantic sea view taste local Sicilian wines with traditional food (locally produced cheeses, salami, prosciutto, caponata, olives, extra virgin olive oil, fresh home-made bread, home made lemon granita - everything is prepared with organic ingredients of local origin - "km0"!). 60 minutes
Bar Vitelli, Savoca, Italy In Savoca you will visit Bar Vitelli that looks exactly the way it did in the movie, and see the exact spot where Al Pacino informed Apollonia's father that his name was Michael Corleone, and that "there are people who'd pay a lot of money for that information, but then your daughter would lose a father instead of gaining a husband". Here you can take pictures with an authentic Sicilian shotgun "Lupara", see pictures from the movie and a mirror monument for Coppola, enjoy panoramic view of the Mediterranean opening from the square where the wedding ceremony scene was shot, purchase The Godfather souvenirs, and - "leave the gun, take the cannoli" - taste original Sicilian cannoli and lemon granita at Bar Vitelli.
Forza d'Agro, Forza d'Agro, Italy The tour will continue in Forza d'Agro, another stunning hilltop town with a "Godfather" connection. You will walk the abandoned streets ("Where have all men gone?" - "They're dead from vendettas"), explore the historic square and see the pictures from the movie, visit ancient churches, see the piazza where young Vito Andolini (later Vito Corleone) escaped Don Ciccio's men by hiding in a basket on a donkey's back, walk up to see the remains of a 12th century Norman castle, admire delightful panoramic view of the Ionian coastline, and get a flavour of the Sicilian pastoral lifestyle remained unchanged since ancient times. 60 minutes

Excellent tour with a great tour guide Bruno who explained very well the details of the film making and other local customs. Good local food. We have done many tours/excursion but this was one of the bests!

I was beyond excited for this tour! Originally I was on a semi-private, but since no one signed up, I upgraded to private. I was given a great deal, and very much appreciated that! Marco was an incredible guide - friendly, full of Godfather knowledge, and extremely accomdating. We honestly had a great time, and I felt like I was with a friend, getting to know Sicily for real and through the eyes of a local. Food stops were delicous, and I had the best sorbet. Marco knew locals and introduced me, as well as translated. So I highly recommend and believe this tour was worth every penny. Even if you’re with family who may not know the Godfather, this tour was more than just seeing filming locations.
I was also communicated with via WhatsApp which was great. Marco also gave incredible tips for food/things to do in Taormina, Mt Etna, and Cefalu. Grazia, Marco!!

We didn't book this tour through tripadvisor actually, but with Prestelli tours directly. However, I saw this tour on tripadvisor and had to give my review! One of the best tours I have been on and not just on this specific trip. My parents and I were thoroughly impressed. We spent 2 weeks in Italy back in April with one of those weeks in Sicily and we still talk about this tour. Our guide, Marco Luisa, was incredible. So kind and knowledgeable, there was never a dull moment. My father dubbed him "a walking encyclopedia" because he made sure every moment we were learning something. Truly a subject matter expert. He picked us up from our hotel which was already bonus points for convenience and drove us to all of our destinations, Forza d'Agro, Savoca, etc. We also enjoyed the lunch option which I must say, if you have the means and time to book this option, will not regret it. We went to Sikania restaurant in Casalvecchio Siculo. The food was great (all local and fresh). The owners were incredible and made the experience so special. Of my group, I was the only one that spoke a little Italian where as the owners spoke Italian and my parents speak English and Spanish but that did not stop my mom and one of the owners, Sabina from connecting. Sabina was truly a treasure and I cannot even express how much she added to our tour which was already amazing as is. If you haven't gathered already from my rave review, please book this tour and you will have an amazing day!! Thank you Marco Luisa, Sabina, Sakania, and Prestelli Sicily Tours for a phenomenal experience!
