We call it the Golden Circle for a good reason – in just one day you can experience some of the most extraordinary places in Iceland and truly understand what makes this country so unique. We meet up in Reykjavik, where you and your traveling buddies hop aboard, and we head straight for Þingvellir National Park, one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Iceland. Next up is one of the most popular spots in Iceland, the Great Geysir. Although Geysir itself is inactive nowadays, the "little" Geysir called Strokkur is shooting vast jets of boiling water from 20 meters up to 40 meters. After the geyser area, get ready for the next amazing stop, at the iconic Gullfoss waterfall, the "golden waterfall. At the end of the day, we stop at the Secret Lagoon to take a relaxing swim. Trust us, this is the perfect way to end a day full of exploring.

  • Thingvellir National Park, Thingvellir, Iceland
    Our first stop is at Þingvellir, the place of the first Icelandic parliament. The first parliament was established there in 930 AD and it is, therefore, the oldest one in Europe. Besides all the history you can also see the Mid-Atlantic ridge. This is the split of the tectonic plates that divides Europe from North America.

  • Geysir, Geysir, Iceland
    This "water puddle" gives its name to all the other Geysers in the world. "Strokkur", the little brother of Geysir, is still active today and he erupts every 5-8min and it is truly a big spectacle.

  • Gullfoss Waterfall, Blaskogabyggd, Iceland
    Last but not least is Gullfoss, the golden waterfall. In the summertime, up to 130.000 l/s are running down this powerful waterfall. In good weather conditions, we are also able to see Langjökull glacier as well.

  • Fridheimar, Reykholt, Iceland
    Iceland is well known for its geothermal energy. We don't only use it to heat our houses, we also use it to grow vegetables in greenhouses. Friðheimar Tomato Farm is probably the best place to experience it. We will take a short tour through the greenhouse and taste their delicious tomato soup.

  • Secret Lagoon - Gamla Laugin, Fludir, Iceland
    The day isn't over yet. There is no better way to end a great day with a relaxing swim in geothermal water. Your guide will drive you to a thermal pool called "Gamla Laugin" (The Secret Lagoon). It was formed in 1891 and is still a popular place for all the locals in the area. It is therefore the oldest swimming pool in the country with a constant temperature of 38/40 °C, thanks to the hot waters from surrounding geothermal activity.

This was a semi-private tour, only 6 passengers, so we waited when someone needed more time, and left the sight early when everyone had enough. We all wanted to spend a little less time in the lagoon and as the result ended up seeing another attraction instead. Our guide Peter was great, he was friendly, gave history and funny stories about attractions along the way, but also gave us lots of free and quiet time to contemplate. The tomato farm visit was interesting, dinner there was optional but we all chose to try it and liked it.

I had booked the Golden Circle, Tomato Farm and Secret Lagoon. It cost more than just the Circle and Lagoon. The day before I got an email saying I as going with a different operator but it would be the same. It was not the same. We did not go to the tomato farm yet I was charged the same. I would have given this a 1 star except the driver was wonderful and tried to help. I asked for a refund for the part of the trip I did not get and have gotten no response. I will not get to the tomato farm because of this so the least you can do is give me the refund. It was the only reason I booked this one.
