Santorini Caldera Gold Day Cruise with BBQ on board and Open Bar

Highlights: The boat itself was in top shape. The transportation offered made the whole day a seamless experience. The lunch was excellent, the crew prepared it on board and did a very impressive job cooking. And, despite some rough seas, the captain managed to get us into the middle of the caldera after warning that the waves may be too big to go out. We appreciated that because it would have been seriously disappointing to miss out on such memorable views and swims. Our package was downgraded when we arrived to the marina because of winds and seas. Even though we were given a partial refund, there was really no warning that this would happen, and we were disappointed not to make it to Oia like we had hoped and planned to do. One or two members of the crew could have been a little friendlier, but hey, they're sailors after all.

We took this cruise from Vlychada on the Rainbow. There were only five of us and three crew so it was like a private tour! The crew looked after us so well and cooked us a delicious lunch. We went to several bays to swim and the crew told us a lot about the history of the island. The crew of the Rainbow were outstanding, knowledgable, and spoke excellent English. We had an brilliant day from when we were picked up from our hotel until we were dropped off back at our hotel. This is a must do experience when on Santorini.

We had a negative experience on our cruise during our honeymoon in August. Minor things: - Our pickup at Katikies hotel was not on time - There were more people on the boat than expected -- it was crowded - The "BBQ" was TERRIBLE - disgusting. Major issues: - Upon arriving at Oia to end the cruise, the next tour group was late which led to us having to float around in the harbor for an hour past schedule. Because it was so choppy, all the passengers began to get sea sick. I told the captain that we needed to dock, and he said it was not possible because the other group was not yet here. After more time, I told him passengers were getting sick and then he reluctantly pulled into the harbor to drop us off. When we got off, my wife and I both had to immediately rush to the restroom to vomit as the hour of sloshing around in the harbor made us both sick. The tour did not wait for us and left us stranded in Oia. We had to walk up all the steps to get into town and then walk to our hotel from there. I called Caldera Yachting in that moment and they told me to WALK BACK DOWN ALL THE STAIRS to then get a ride back to the hotel. We told them that we would finish the steps and walk back as we were almost at the top. They told us they would reach out to provide a 20% discount for the negative experience. Not only did they not provide the refund, they ignored all emails I sent them following up on their promise. I do not recommend Caldera. They are disorganized and not timely and do not provide good customer service. There are plenty of other experiences you can buy for less money that are the exact same route.
