What an amazing experience. We were picked up @ our hotel & driven to our departure port. Once on board there were options of soft drinks, water or Greek white wine from a local winery. We set out for the Caldera around 3:00pm. Along the route the crew explained the local terrain & the reasons behind all the colors in the layers of the Santorini cliffs. The crew is so incredible knowledgeable & personable. They’re phenomenal.
We continued onto the volcanic hot springs where they stopped the boat so those that wanted to could take a swim. Being that it was April the water was cold so. It many of us opted to swim.
We went on to the rest of the Caldera and once the meal was finished being prepared we stopped to eat. All of the traditional Greek meal was fresh and so well prepared.

The food was absolutely delicious and the crew did a wonderful job keeping our drinks filled. Since we love to sail and have owned a monohaul, we were excited to be aboard a catamaran but were really disappointed to find out that this was not a sailing trip at all. Instead it was a motor from point A to B and back. Listening to engines the whole time takes away from the experience. We were also frustrated that the captain was really very rude for the first couple of hours until he realized that everyone aboard wasn’t going to fall off the boat, then he was pretty friendly. He grabbed my husband’s arm at one point to tell him to go to the front of the boat and in general was snapping at everyone to stay seated. There were 11 of us aboard, and nearly everyone there (including the 3 kids) had spent extensive time on sailboats, but the captain never bothered to ask. The experience was enjoyable, but we wish it hadn’t been advertised as a sailing trip. Once aboard, we were told that the company very rarely lifts the sail.
Overall, it was a great way to spend the afternoon. I can only imagine the amount and variety of people whom the crew has to deal with on a daily basis, so I understand reasons for not lifting the sails and for being strict about movement on the boat, I just wish things had been more kindly communicated.
