Explorer's Choice: Grenada Private Half Day Island Tour

We have travelled extensively in the Caribbean and have gone on many tours with local guides. Without a doubt, Ace Ventura Taxi & Tours provided us with the best tour experience we’ve ever had. We booked a private tour very last minute (the afternoon before) and requested to go to Mt. Carmel waterfall and Belmont Estate. The morning of the tour, someone at our hotel told us we should also stop by Grand Etang National Park to see the monkeys and Ace added that stop to our tour at no extra cost. Curlon (aka Ace) arrived at our hotel right on time to pick us up. His van was spotless, spacious and comfortable. He has a credit card machine available in the van which is an added bonus if you don’t want to bring cash. Throughout the day whenever we were driving between destinations, he told us all about Grenada - from the island’s history to politics, local cuisine, plants and wildlife, he covered it all. He has so much knowledge and pride about his country and loved sharing all of the things that make Grenada so unique and beautiful. At all of our stops, it was clear that he is very well-liked and respected by everyone working at local businesses and tourist destinations. When we arrived at Grand Etang his friend working at the entrance gate gave us bananas to feed the monkeys. Ace was very patient at our last-minute add-on stop and did some awesome monkey calls to try to lure them out of the forest for us. We met up with another tour group and were all able to take photos with a monkey on our head. Our next stop was Belmont Estate. Our tour guide there was amazing and we learned all about the chocolate-making process and local fruit trees. Our final stop was Mt. Carmel waterfall. On the way there Ace stopped at a fruit stand and bought us a bag of mangoes to snack on. He led us on a hike to the big waterfall and took some amazing photos for us. Then he led us down to the smaller waterfall so we could slide down it. It was truly a wonderful and memorable day. We learned so much about the island and wholeheartedly recommend booking a tour with Ace. He definitely goes way above and beyond to give you a five-star experience.

Curlon's half day tour of Grenada was hands down the best excursion I've ever been on (easily 30+). Curlon was professional, personable, and very knowledgeable. We had an absolute blast going to Grand Etang, Seven Sister's waterfalls, and Annandale falls. We can't wait to return to the island to take another tour with Curlon. We also used Ace Ventura for their taxi services, they were prompt and vehicles were spotless.
