    Guided Ascent of Carrauntoohil, Ireland's highest mountain: When you make an ascent with us you will not just be tagging along – we will share a wealth of historical, geological and natural history which these mountains have in abundance. We are very passionate about this area and it shows. Guests ages 16 and up can attend. It is worth mentioning before you proceed that any ascent of Ireland's highest mountain should only be undertaken if you feel you have the required level of fitness. You will be hiking over tough strenuous mountain terrain that does not have trails for at least 6 hours. The route is over 11 kmtrs long and within that there is 1000mtrs of ascent and decent! We have found that people have previously underestimated the climb so it is necessary to state this. Waterproof / windproof jacket and over trousers ( breathable fabric recommended but not essential ) Comfortable Clothing NO JEANS / DENIM Hiking Boots Fluid Packed Lunch Back Pack ( essential ) Spare Fleece / Warm Layer for the summit

Can’t recommend enough!! Don was a great guide! He kept us informed during the hike with stories and local info. Stopped for plenty of snack and photo stops , looking forward to climbing again soon with KerryClimbing!

I joined a guided climb of Carrauntoohill via the Devil's Ladder on September 30th. There were six others in the group. The leader was very friendly, encouraging and competent. He gave us plenty of time to enjoy the magnificent scenery and take photos. It was an extremely enjoyable day from start to finish.

After booking Kerry Climbing for a corporate event up Irelands tallest mountain I asked them to keep my own name for any more arduous climbs and thrilled when they invited me to take on the challenging Coomloughra Horseshoe which takes on three of Irelands tallest peaks in one sitting (walking). A five star three course meal of mountains, ridges and countless peaks around one of Irelands finest ranges. Not something to be done alone but with Piaras as our our guide he made the experience a thrill beyond my wildest expectations. Any fear of knife edged ridges slid away from me as he filled me with confidence that I’ve never had before. I thought that climbing in the Alps would have been the highlight of my year in the hills but honestly; the Beenkeragh Ridge has overshot the mark hands down. Thank you for showing me the way. Piaras is truly a man of the mountains and just a guy that fills people with laughs and confidence. Top class.
