A local guide will be waiting for you at the meeting point with an orange umbrella. We will take you on a journey through the best wines of Portugal. This includes port wine, Portugal's most famous product. During this tour, you and other enthusiasts will taste Port wine, Douro wine, and Green wine. You will visit Fonseca Port Wine cellar, including 2 port wine tastings, and then, go to two wine houses to taste 3 samples of Douro Wine and one of Green Wine. Your tastings are complemented by traditional Portuguese snacks, cheeses, and smoked meats. We'll walk to Gaia city to visit the cellar and come back to Porto to go to the bars/restaurants for the rest of the tasting. This way, you'll have the opportunity to see the best viewpoints of both cities. Bring comfortable shoes and get ready for some walking. This activity is under the Stamp Clean&Safe approval, emitted by the Turismo de Portugal. This activity follows the standards of the Contingency Plan created by City Lovers Tours.

Not a particularly enjoyable experience. Only 2 establishments visited, the first a port producer who was more interested in selling their products. Stated that we would be served tapas but had just one croquette.

Firstly, the contact person kept on trying to change the time. It was stressful having to deal with this issue as we were still on the train. I had allowed a 3 hour gap for delays, but the tour was changed so that we would miss it. I contacted the help chat, and the tour went ahead as planned. Secondly, the guide was friendly, but the tour was a waste of time. We were taken to a small unknown wine cellar for a really lame tour. Thirdly, we walked to a bar for ONE tapas. The staff at the bar were totally disinterested, gave us a dried cod croquette each, that was tasteless and some wine without any information. I had to go to the bar to ask if I could read the labels on the bottle. All in all the tour didn’t match any of the provider photos nor any of the traveler's photos. It was a huge disappointment and a total waste of time and money.

Tour itself was very brief. Most of the tour was spend in Port cellar with lecture and tasting - only good part of tour. The second winetasting was where we had "tapas" - cod cake and green olives and tastings of 3 terrible wines!
