Your guide will weave a narrative from both the Roman perspective and the native perspective, thereby providing both viewpoints. The Northumberland National Park makes a magnificent backdrop. Your guide will make visible a wealth of archaeology, thereby helping you discover a land with multiple layers. You will be in awe of the landscape as you walk the gentle slopes of the Whin Sill, a geological feature underpinning Hadrian’s Wall. Kevin is a great guide. My wife & I have visited Northumberland & Hadrian’s Wall off and on for 20 years, he’s not only the most informed & informative guide but also personable and easy to engage. His knowledge and understanding of British Roman history is deep and nuanced, and he was great at fielding our American questions. I have no reservations recommending him to someone visiting Northumberland for the first time or for the 15th.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable day with Kevin - he came across as a genuinely nice guy and his extensive knowledge coupled with his enthusiasm for his craft (alongside the fantastic landscape and environment) made for an absolutely brilliant experience. I would highly recommend this tour - we were so inspired we plan to walk the entire length of Hadrian's Wall next year!!!!!!

This tour was amazing! One of the best if not the best tours I have ever been on. After the 2 hour tour finished, my wife and I were the only ones left and had Kevin as our own private tour guide. He has extensive knowledge of Roman Britain and Hadrian's Wall. Without Kevin we would have missed out on so much. His passion and attention to detail is exceptional. I would 100% recommend this tour.
