  • The Living Land Farm, Luang Prabang, Laos
    This charming community farm just outside of Luang Prabang overlooks wonderful Rice Fields and Mountains. Rice is planted all year round and they welcome guests who want to learn about Rice planting and other farm activities like bamboo weaving, sugar cane pressing, black smithing. The half day programme starts at 08.30 and finishes with a tasting of rice based snacks. After farming experience, we have lunch in the farm (a selection of typical Luang Prabang dishes and fruit.) Proceeds from the Rice Experience go to supporting over 60 students with their studies and they operate free English classes for the whole village.

Fabulous!!! Sai, along with a great sense of humor, taught us so much about farming rice using traditional methods. This experience is an absolute must. We’ve come away way greater understanding of Laos and a greater appreciation for rice. We also had lunch which was delicious !! With or without lunch I highly recommend. Be prepared to get muddy !! ????

The people there are very nice and freindly, speak english very well. They explain the process of growing rice in the traditional way step by step, along with experiencing it ... Be prepared for entering the mud:)) until the happy 14 step of tasting some kinds of rice snacks. Very special and authentic activity.

Super moment en famille dans les rizières. Le guide était hyper sympa, drôle et passionné. Il nous a expliqué comment on cultive le riz, avec quels outils, et a partagé plein d’anecdotes intéressantes, le tout dans un cadre super agréable. Franchement, une chouette activité à faire !
