    Built by the Crusaders in the 12th century, the castle persists as a monument that is part of the city’s rich history. A palimpsest of cultures, the castle was built using remnants of Roman structures and was previously surrounded by a moat. The castle is flanked by numerous Roman, Egyptian and Phoenician structures, as well as the city’s port.

Nice and flexible tour guides. I was able to customise the trip based on my needs and time. The byblos castle was unfortunately closed during my visit and ideally the company could have been prepared for that in advance. Nonetheless, I had a good time getting a glimpse of what I wanted. Very nice people, recommend the guide!

Hayfa and her husband are excellent hosts, very informative about Beirut, Lebanon and Byblos. I strongly recommend them escepicially for solo female travelers
