Temple of Demeter, Sangri, Greece History comes alive at the ancient temple of Demetra, in Sagri Village, dated 530 BC, and dedicated to the goddess of agriculture. Built on the edge of a fertile Naxian valley, as the first Greek temple constructed entirely of marble (its roof as well), it’s of even greater historical importance.

Filoti, Filoti, Greece The largest settlement on the island is a beautiful village amphitheatrically built on the foothills of mount Zeus. The sprawled branches of an imposing old plane tree lavishly provide the guests with shadow.
The most renowned church of the district is Panagia Filotitissa (the Holy Mary of Filoti). The current building was established in the 18th century and boasts a three-bell tower with exquisite carved details. In front of the church lies the Ecclesiastic and Folklore Museum of Filoti. There, guests have the chance to see how a traditional house used to be and admire some of the relics and icons of the church. 30 minutes

Alex was a great guide. Took us to several awesome spots around Naxos, a super oke church, ancient olive oil press (don't disqualify it as apparently boring, it was extremely informative and we tasted GREAT products there!!!!), a pottery shop, a kitron distillery (they had more than just kitron) ; beautiful day all around!!

We had such a good time on this tour! Alex was our driver and he was so easy to get along with, his English was great, he helped me with some of my Greek phrases :-) We really enjoyed the pottery (brought some back), the honey, olive oil, Citron, everything! Great way to see more of Naxos and get to know the villages a little better.
