The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known commonly as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, in Cairo, Egypt, is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display, the remainder in storerooms. Built in 1901 by the Italian construction company Garozzo-Zaffarani to a design by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon, the edifice is one of the largest museums in the region. We did enjoy this visit but it was very crowded and noisy and it was hard to hear our guide a lot of the time. All the tours seem to follow the same route so not much chance to spend time reading about the exhibits or go wandering off to look at something on your own. Nice to finally see the few Tutankhamun pieces left there although the mask was quite a disappointment as it looked like it needed a good clean!

A Guia que nos atendeu foi incrível!! Além de ser formada em História e Antropologia, teve uma paciência enorme conosco e explicou cada detalhe do Museu do Cairo dentro de um tempo até limitado. Parabéns pelo Trabalho!! Indico demais!!!
